Spirit of St. Louis Scholarship - SOM

The Spirit of St. Louis Scholarship is intended to promote and support highly talented students from St. Louis and the surrounding areas to attend SLU SOM.

Eligibility: Any incoming M1s admitted to SLU SOM who attended (for at least 3 years) and graduated from high school within 100 miles of the St. Louis area OR have lived in the St. Louis area for 4 or more years prior to matriculation to medical school.

Notification Dates:
First Round of Awards will be announced on January 16, 2026*+. Deadline for consideration is December 31, 2025.
Second Round of Awards will be announced on March 27, 2026+. Deadline for consideration is March 6, 2026.

*If you are not selected for the first round of awards, you will remain eligible for the second round without having to reapply
+ You will remain on the alternate list for the scholarship indefinitely. Should an initial awardee decline, the next eligible candidate will receive the scholarship

  1. Please explain how you meet the locality qualification for this scholarship. Please do one of the following: List the address you have lived in for four or more years that is within the greater metropolitan area of St. Louis and explain what you were doing during that time (e.g., attending college, working, etc). OR Please list the High School you attended for at least three years within 100 miles of the St. Louis area, and include the year of graduation from high school.
  2. Please list your MCAT (total) score. If you have taken the MCAT more than once, please calculate your average score. Additionally, please upload documentation of your MCAT score(s) to this application. Missing documentation will render applicants ineligible for the scholarship.
