Dan Kelly Memorial Scholarship

For students in broadcast/electronic journalism, this scholarship honors the memory of Dan Kelly, a renowned sports announcer in hockey. Students must have at least a 3.0 GPA in their major and completed 13 hours in communication by the end of the this spring semester. At least one of those courses must be a journalism-related course. These courses include, for example, CMM 2100 Journalism: News Writing, CMM 2550 Photojournalism, CMM 4100 Multiplatform Journalism, and CMM 3440 Media Ethics. Please note that this list is not exhaustive and that there may be other journalism-related courses that could qualify a student for this scholarship award.

Students who receive the scholarship as a junior will receive it their senior year as well, provided they continue to remain a communication major and meet the award’s GPA requirements. Students can receive the scholarship for no more than two years.
