Kent Undergraduate Psychological Science Grant
To enable undergraduate psychology students to apply for research grant awards. Must be in good standing and have IRB approval in progress at time of submission and be the Principal Investigator of the study, conducted under the supervision of a faculty mentor in SLU’s psychology department. Fund can pay for conference (if presenting), registration fees, transportation and lodging, as well as books, software, printing costs, study materials and testing supplies.
Please note: Funds are for projects starting after January 1, 2024 and ending before June 30, 2024. Use of awarded funds must be completed by the end of the 2023/2024 fiscal year (by June 30, 2024). Remaining funds must be returned to the Kent Foundation account.

- (Part E) An itemized budget detailing how grant funds for allowable expenses will be used must be presented. The budget must be itemized and show all your calculations for figuring out each cost and a source to justify those calculations. It is the student’s responsibility to develop a budget that is complete and accurate.
- (Part F) Institutional Review Board (IRB) letter: A copy of IRB approval notification (including the project name) or a memo from the supervising faculty member indicating that such approval is pending and likely to be received on-time, must be provided to be considered.
- I certify that: 1) the project represents original empirical research developed in collaboration with the named faculty mentor, 2) I am a Psychology major in good standing who is eligible to apply, 3) I understand that I must maintain good standing during the funding period or the funds may be revoked, 4) I understand that it is my obligation to maintain complete records of expenses related to this grant, 5) I will provide a final report following the guidelines in this application package, and 6) I authorize Saint Louis University to use my name, educational background, photograph, descriptive information about my project, and information about my participation in any event related to the project without limitations.
