Kristina Anderson Professional Excellence in Practice Award

This scholarship was established to recognize the student occupational therapist that possesses exemplary knowledge, skills, and attitudes in practice. Jim Boles chose to create an annual award to benefit a student occupational therapist in appreciation of the treatment he received from Saint Louis University 2002 graduate Kristina Anderson, Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy (BSOT), magna cum laude. Following an accident and several major surgical procedures, Jim was told by medical professionals he would never walk again. He was counseled to accept performing his daily occupations using a wheelchair for mobility. However, through skilled care and encouragement of Kristina, Jim enjoys an active and ambulatory lifestyle. To be considered for this award, candidates must be a student in good academic standing in the Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy in the Doisy College of Health Sciences at Saint Louis University and be able to demonstrate a record of committed occupational therapy practice. Recipients will be chosen by the Scholarship and Awards Committee and presented at the Celebration Ceremony.
